Hidden Treasures

In Hidden Treasures we try to show you some highlights of the treasures that the province of Alicante hides: its coves of crystal water in the midst of nature reserves, like Cala Blanca in Javea or the little beaches of Benissa’s Path.

And Tabarca Island? A beautiful island marine reserve, where to enjoy a great day of diving and tasty seafood!

Do you know Formentera? Only a couple of hours by boat from Denia. You can even come and go on the same day, rent a Vespa and get lost in gorgeous spots like Cala Saona, Es Migjorn, Es Calo, Ses Illetes, the Island of Espalmador and La Mola lighthouse. Formentera is unique and is right next door!

Beyond the bays, there is history and culture. Can´t miss the fiestas all across the region, notable for their spectacular parades, the brass bands and the great participation. They are held in almost all the towns, with those in Alcoy as part of our World Heritage.

June is a very special month in Alicante because from 20 th to 24 th it’s Las Hogueras, the official festival of Alicante. It’s a wild celebration of the longest day and the shortest night.

Eat and drink till dawn with new friends, build bonfires, make wishes and jump the waves on the shore. And you can´t miss la mascletá! Every day at 14:00 in Alicante’s central square – Plaza de Luceros. For Alicantinos, these days are the highlight of our year!
